Damian tells Cady that the real reason Regina and Janis stopped being friends was that in 6th grade, Regina accused Janis of being a lesbian. When the latter was unable to deny it, her classmates bullied her until she left school. The three friends decide to work together to get revenge on Regina, starting with giving her Kälteen Bars to make her gain weight. They also trick Gretchen by sending a fake Candy Cane Gram to Cady from “Regina” saying that they are now best friends. This leads Gretchen to reveal Regina’s secret hook-ups with football player Shane Oman, among other vengeful acts (“Revenge Party”). After the Plastics’ disastrous “Rockin’ Around the Pole” dance at the school talent show, people start noticing Regina’s weight gain.

“I thought what was so cool about [McAdams] was she’s able to have the range acting-wise that she does but also can be the bitchiest character. And you are obsessed with her.” Auliʻi Cravalho and Jaquel Spivey together are a highlight of both the soundtrack and the movie. Now a duet between Janis and Damian, I think this is possibly one of the better revamped tracks from the musical. Alisha Morrison plays “unfriendly” student Lea Edwards and Jan Caruana plays overweight student Emma Gerber. Julia Chantrey plays Amber D’Alessio and Jacky Chamberlain and Olympia Lukis appear as disabled students Giselle Sgro and Jessica Lopez. An interesting fact about Karen is her supposed ability to predict the weather.

As I grow older, I’ve lost my sense of deep fomo and deep anxiety regarding the notion of cliques. The concept of cliques and the concept of boxing six or seven people into this thing, where you’re only allowed to be interested in these things and talk about these things, is not healthy. I don’t know why I or any kid aspires so much to be a part of something like that, but my hope and dream is that people watch this movie and understand that there is a way beyond that. I graduated when I was really, really young, and then I ended up doing high school again and was on and off with the days that I actually came into school and had my attendance marked. So I definitely didn’t interact with that kind of a dynamic, but I had my fair share of cliquey experiences in middle school, which still account as truly the worst years of my life.

Janis invites Cady to her art show, but she lies, saying she has to travel with her mother to Madison. However, Cady convinces her mother to let her stay home and secretly throws a house party, where she drunkenly admits to Aaron that she has been deliberately failing math to get closer to him. When she follows him, she is confronted by Janis, who calls her out on being as catty as Regina. Cady accuses Janis of being obsessed with her, so she responds that Cady has become fully Plastic, renouncing their friendship. Cady tells Janis and Damian about the Burn Book, and they explain that Janis and Regina were once friends, but fell out after Regina outed Janis as a lesbian to the school. Cady begins to intentionally fail math to get closer to Aaron, who invites her to his Halloween party.

Damian tries to explain why they hate Regina, but Janis interrupts him. Mean Girls is a 2004 American teen comedy film directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey. It stars Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Tim Meadows, Ana Gasteyer, Amy Poehler and Fey. The film follows Cady Heron (Lohan), a naïve teenager who transfers to an American high school after years of homeschooling in Africa. Heron quickly befriends two outcasts (Lizzy Caplan and Daniel Franzese), with the trio forming a plan to exact revenge on Regina George (McAdams), the leader of an envied clique known as the Plastics. Karen is a character in the movie “Mean Girls,” portrayed by actresses Amanda Seyfried (2004 movie) and Avantika (2024).

• I used to obsess over those Millennium Dance videos where everyone would gather around the dancer in the middle.
• “No Dey Tire” by Lord Afrixana – “No Dey Tire” is the second song heard during Cady’s party.
• The official musical performers remain unconfirmed, but Céline Dion and Lady Gaga have both arrived in Paris, further fueling speculation that they may be among the headliners.

However, not every song from Broadway will be heard by those who watch Mean Girls. What the movie might lack in terms of songs from the Broadway musical, it adds several other songs to the experience thanks to the movie format. Furious, Cady shows up at Damian’s house and tells him and Janis what happened.

As senior year begins, the Plastics have disbanded; Regina joins the lacrosse team to channel her anger, Gretchen joins an Asian clique, and Karen becomes the school weather girl. After violating the Plastics’ dress code rules by wearing sweatpants, the only thing that fit her, Regina is banished and Cady becomes the new “queen bee”. Despite Janis’ insistence that Regina is “evil,” Cady comes to enjoy hanging out with the group at the mall and writing insulting remarks about their classmates and teachers in a diary called the “Burn Book”.
